HORRY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Horry County has just one school district which serves over 34,000
students.
The school district consists of nine high schools, nine
middle
schools, 24 elementary schools, two career centers and an alternative

The B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Coalition thanks Horry County School District for their recent decision
to make the campuses of all their schools 100% tobacco-free. The new policy will go into effect

The South Carolina School Board Association in collaboration with the
South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC),
Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control endorses the adoption of
policies that address preventing tobacco use within schools.
